Inspirational Thursday - Maya Angelou

Hi there, today I have some quotes by one of my most favorite writer - Maya Angelou. She's very uplifting and we all need a lil' bit of that. Here are some of my favorites:

and Joy is what my family brings to me. It's unbelievable how my kids and hubby chance my whole life and perspective. It's because of them that I try my hard to be a better mom and wife. They are my world, my everything, my air...and all is because of GOD. I can't thank him enough for giving me such a beautiful family and for blessing me every day of my life.

Remember...

This is my youngest aunt and her kids. She used to live in Puerto Rico when I was over there and it felt so nice to have a piece of my mother's side of the family over there with me. She moved here to New York a few years ago, so we are back together again. The oldest of her daughter I remember when she was a baby...its amazing how time flies...flies.

I used this sketch here from the 25 sketches challenge over at Apron Strings. I gotta tell you that sketches are not only fun, but it takes out all the guess work for you making it less time consuming....and for me that's always good.

We celebrate together...

Here's another LO for the 25 sketches challenge over at Apron Strings. I used this sketch right here. These 3 lil' and big people are the joy of my life.

These are still pictures from last Christmas, which we celebrated at my aunt's house. The second picture is of my daughter and her first American Girl dolly that she loves a whole lotta lotta, lol.

25 Days of Sketches is...

the new challenge going on over at Apron Strings for the 25 days until Christmas. It consists of a sketch a day from December 1 thru the 25th. To be eligible to win a cookie jar treat for the week you have to at least complete 3 of the sketches for that week and upload them on or before Saturday evening. There will be drawings each week and one final big cookie jar treat which will be between the people that complete the whole 25 sketches. Trust me those big cookie jar treats are yummy. I got one for the Croptoberfest and it was huge.

So here is my take on the first sketch which you can find here. I didn't use a kit from Apron Strings, but I did use some of the papers from that huge cookie jar treat that I told you about...and some miscellaneous embellies that I had. The chipboard circles and the blessings journaling are also from AS store that I purchased a few months ago.

These are pictures of last Christmas, and I'm glad for this sketch and some more that I will be showing you in the next few days because I was able to scrap some of my favorites pictures from last Christmas.

'Tis the Season

Here's a quick post to show you a card I made with this Magnolia that I bought at 7kidscollegefund. She's colored with copics and the paper is Eskimo kisses from Basic Grey. I also used some Shimmerz on her dress and tights.

Inspirational Thursday

Friendship never explain - your friends do not need it, and your enemies will not believe it anyway. A real friend never gets in your way, unless you happen to be on the way down. A friend is someone you can do nothing with and enjoy it. However much we guard ourselves against it, we tend to shape ourselves in the image others have of us. It is not so much the example of others we imitate, as the reflection of ourselves in their eyes and the echo of ourselves in their words.

I'm Yours

This was the card I made for hubby for our anniversary. I used a digi stamp from the Greeting Farm...isn't that stamp the cutest? The paper and the majority of the embellishments are from Little Yellow Bicycle Love Notes collection, and the To Sir sticker at the right corner is from Basic Grey Bittersweet collection. He liked the card a lot which makes me a happy girl.

10th Anniversary

Good morning all! Friday was my 10th year anniversary...such a milestone for me and hubby because we've been thru tough times...but I guess is true what they say that loves conquers all. I surprised hubby with a getaway here:


and it was fabulous...we really needed this time away. It was amazing. Here are some pictures of us at the hotel.
