I heart this girl....

She has an amazing voice and wow, her lyrics are just unbelievable. Listen to this...

I'll be sharing some of my favorites...hope you don't mind.

Well, I was finally able to scrap a bit. I worked on a mini album this weekend from Creative Scrappers, the one from February to be exact. And this is the final result...

I also scrapped the pages from the first three lessons of Scripture Scrappers. The first lesson was an introduction to the Fruits of the Spirit. The scripture on that page reads: (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), Ephesians 5:9. Here's the page:

Lesson 2 was about Love. Here's that page:

Finally, lesson 3 was about Joy and the scripture I used there is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, and it reads Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.....that's an advice that I'm giving my kids therefore the picture of me and the kids.

That's it for now, but hopefully I'll be back soon. Blessings!

A quick food for thought!

Hello everyone, hope everyone is well. I'm doing well although haven't been able to scrap much lately. Hopefully I'll have some time in a little while since the kids are with my mom at a birthday party. Talking about the kids....phew....never thought that parenting would be so darn difficult. Nowadays the kids want to be the parent....unbelievable. I'm having some difficulties with the kids, especially with my 4 year old boy. He is getting way to rebellious and snotty. I wondered where they learn to have such a bad attitude? Maybe school from other kids? Not sure, but I don't know what else to do....I punish him, I spank him a bit from time to time....and nothing seems to work.

My daughter is a little calmer, but I have to repeat myself 100 million times before she listens. Do you remember when our parent used to tell us something once and that's all they needed? Or sometimes not even tell us, with their look they spoke words....and guys you know I'm not that old...I'm going to be 30 this year....so that wasn't too long ago.

I don't want my kids to be afraid of me, nor a want to be a "mean, witchy" mother, lol, but I'm just not sure as how to discipline them anymore. Any advice, suggestions, methods? I need them, I really do.

Well, enough of that. As you all know I've been following this blog of Scripture Scrappers and Danielle posted this there and I wanted to share.....

Malachi 3:3 says: 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: 'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.' She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined...

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?'

He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it.'

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire , remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them. And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in the end...

'Life is a coin.. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.'

Thanks for stopping by.

So my baby is now 4....

Oh boy, where does time goes? It sure is flying. Yesterday was Shawn's birthday and we had it at Chuck E. Cheese. Wow, that place was crowded and not because of my kids....but because it is a mine of gold. I invited 15 kids and only 6 were there including my two kids....but my son had a blast anyway. I was little dissapointed because there is a thing called rsvp, so I didn't have to waste all that money....but I guess they don't know what that is. Anyway, my son had so much fun and that's all that matters at this point.

I took some pictures...here are a few:
The birthday cake...Lighting McQueen from Cars.
The Birthday Boy

The proud parents

Blowing the candles!

Chuck E.

So it was fun! There is nothing that gives me so much happiness that seeing my kids smile, smile, and smile all day. Love it!

Nothing scrappy :-( haven't had the time. Hope to "see" you guys soon.

Scripture Scrappers...

is my new journey. I really need this in my life. If you want to join Danielle, me, and all the other ladies in a journey of Faith and Blessings click here. This is the first lesson and we are starting with the Fruits of the Spirit. Once I'm done with this post I will do my first page which will be the title page. Will post it later.

On another note, I'm home right now because Yari is sick...she has the "runs" since Monday and I can't for the life of it figure out how to stop it. My poor girl runs to the bathroom every 10 minutes.

I haven't done much scrapping and I probably won't do much for the next two weeks. My MIL is coming from CA for two weeks, and I like to spend as much time as possible with her. I want to try to catch up with 365 cards as well, but I'll see when that happens.

Sunday is Shawn's birthday. I can't believe that my baby is already turning 4. It seems like yesterday....where has the time gone? We will celebrate it at Chuck E. Cheese since I'm not doing any more birthday parties at home....to much work.

Thanks for stopping by.

365 Cards

is pumping and I'm on a roll with them. I did yesterday's challenge which was to use a flower, button, and ribbon and this is what I came up with...

Also, remember that I told you that I did two LO's with Nov. '08 Creative Scrappers Layout kit. These are the two LO's that I did with this delicious line of Basic Grey: Ambrosia. I love it. I want to do another LO with the scraps that I have left of the line and once I'm done I'll post it. This first one is me and the kids, and the second one is my youngest sister on her prom night.

I also made a card for my mother who loves butterflies. Her birthday is Saturday so this is the card that she is getting. Today I helped my daughter do the birthday card that she's giving her, but I need to take a picture of it so I can post it here as well.

Well, that's it for tonight. I'm gonna catch up on some of my favorite blogs and then I'll go nite, nite.

Snow day for the kids...

Scrappy day for me, Yay! LOL. So, I had a pretty lazy and relaxing day today. I'm so blessed to be able to stay home with the kids whenever they have a snow day due to my flexibility on my schedule. God really gave me this job at the right moment...I'm very happy about that.

So here we got between 6-10 inches of snow, argh! I'm so ready for Spring. I thought that this was over, but no, not yet...for all those that know me they know I'm not a happy camper, LOL. I do not like the winter at all...not even because of snow days. Tehee!

I managed today to scrap a bit, so that makes my heart content. I did this LO for one of the challenges at my Apron Strings yahoo group and it was to use: cardstock, tag, something white, floral patterned paper, a paper clip, title, 3 flowers minimum, staples, and a rub on. Uff, that was a lot of things on one LO, but I did manage it pretty easily thanks to Sketch 31 of 2008 from 52 sketches...52 weeks.

Have you heard about 365 Cards yet? This is a new blog for cards challenges and they will post one each day. One of my friends from Apron Strings (Gloria) it's on their DT. Toot, toot! I decided to play along for yesterday and today. Yesterday's challenge was a sketch, hop on over so you can take a look at it; and today's challenge was to use only two embellishments. My two embellishments were ribbon and stickers. It felt nice to go simple.

Lastly, I purchased this LO kit back in November from Creative Scrappers and made two LO's with the kit. The kit designer was Deb, and I love what she did. I will post those later because I kinda of just finished, so I need natural lighting to take good photos.

Back to school and work tomorrow. Hope you had a wonderful day today. Ciao!

Quick post...

I dressed up my blog in honor to my son Shawn who is going to be 4 years old this month on the 15th...I can't believe how time flies....and I thank my Lord for blessing me with almost 4 years in the life of Shawn and I wish that there are many more to come. Hope you like it!

I'm sorry that I've been gone...

for such a long time. I've been recuperating from a fall last Sunday. I don't know exactly what happened, but I fell from the stairs of my building. Luckily, it was the last five steps because if not, I don't want to imagine. I have a big bruise on my buttock and was in a lot of pain for a few days. I also hurt my back and a little bit my head....but I'm doing better now. Thank to my Lord. Now, I'm attacking with antibiotics a cold that I think wants to hit me....but I'm going to fight until the end. Teheee.

I did manage to do a little bit of scrapping last weekend before I fell, and I also uploaded the pictures of the valentine treats I created for my kids classmates and teachers (finally) so I will share those with you as well. These were templates by Valerie Salmon and there were very easy to assemble.

I've also been working on some challenges from my Apron Strings Yahoo group and this is what I've done so far.

In the page above the challenge was to either paint or stamp on your page - I painted the chipboard letters and it's about how those 3 people color my world.

On this one, the challenge was to make the journaling the center stage of your LO. That's why I put the journaling on that big bracket and the journaling reads: "On October 28, 2002 mt life changed completely. That day I realized that I hadn't felt nothing compared to what I felt that day. It was something new, yet so fulfilling, so emotional, so mine. I brought life into this world, but not only that...I also gave a piece of my sould, my heart, my mind...my Life. That thakes a lot of courage, especially in this crazy world. I have to say I'm very proud of myself....and teh reason is YOU, MY LOVE."

And this last one is about the February word challenge which I chose candy. It's about how my kids are so different in so many ways and one of those differences is how my son has a sweet tooth and my daughter not so much.

On another not that makes me really happy is: I'm a follower of this blog and Danielle is starting a new blog that combines Bible Study with Scrapbooking. I will play along and learn a lot I'm sure. I'm also still taking Valerie's and Janna's Got Sketch 103 class, but I'm very behind...but I love their sketches so I have them there for future reference, plus the tips and tricks and all that good stuff that they share I wouldn't miss it for a thing. This is one of the LO's I did for the class.

Other than that, we are just relaxing. I will start working on a mini album about Love that I got from Creative Scrappers (oh gosh, Kristine puts togethere these cute, cute mini albums) that I just can't resist.

This month is Shawn's birthday - the 15th to be exact - I'm throwing him a birthday party at Chuck -n- Cheese (no more parties at home). I'm also very happy because my mother-in-law is coming for 2 weeks. Yeah, I actually adore my MIL, hehe. She's just the best.

And lastly but not least, my friend Amy gave me this award....thank you my sweet friend...and now I'm passing it on to:

3. Kristine at Kristine Davidson

5. Deb at Scraps of Deb

6. Summer at Summertime Designs

7. Lynn at Pieces of Me

8. Tanisha Renee at Girl, Let me Tell You...

Have a great week, everyone!
